Think Americaan Idol has been a cash cow in the past? Now picture it against seemingly endless reruns, shows that were left for mid-season attempting to gain traction, and... more reality shows. If the audience doesn't grow in terms of viewers, the actual share should be higher, as those that would've watched the other network shows seek out alternate entertainment choices. (Here's the irony for the Writers' Guild- they'll likely be turning to boxed sets of shows or shows streaming online. I'd also imagine it will be a busy time for Netflix and Blockbuster Online.)
